‘Summer Survivors’ to go on FIFF screen

Lithuanian feature ‘Summer Survivors’ has been selected to go on screen at the 37th edition of the Fajr International Film Festival (FIFF) in Iran.

Directed by Marija Kavtaradze, ‘Summer Survivors’ is a road film, where a psychologist Indre is ordered to take two young patients - Paulius and Juste - to a psychiatric hospital in a seaside town.

Indre is a psychology post graduate who has difficulties communicating people, Paulius suffers from bipolar disorder and his mood is shifting, and Juste is being treated after a suicide attempt, but she refuses to admit she needs help.

Cast of the 2018 movie includes Indre Patkauskaite, Paulius Markevicius, Gelmine Glemzaite and Sarunas Zenkevicius.

Headed by Iranian filmmaker Reza Mirkarimi, the 37th FIFF will be held in the capital, Tehran, on April 18-26, 2019.

A national version of the Fajr Film Festival (FFF) kicked off on January 30 and wrapped up on February 11.

Since its establishment in 1982, the festival has played vital roles in the development of Iranian Cinema.
